This is the third 36”x48” painting I have recently completed . They are all painted on deep cradled wood frames so they are pretty substantial pieces!

Three Trout
Here are three trout paintings I recently completed. The slick shiny trout lend themselves well to the paint.
Waves of Pend Oreille
As the seasons change and the snow marches down the mountains I am seeing a lot more days like I represented in this painting. This one is 48”x36” painted on a 2” cradled board. I recently sold off a big painting so I had the perfect space available on my studio wall.
I have a few solo shows coming up in the next 5 months so odds are this one will be doing some traveling.
Spectator
I have returned again to an old theme… the isolated chair. I am trying to put together some small works for a show at a little gallery in Idaho. I have a few big solo shows coming up soon so my time has been very tight… not to mention that pesky day job that had been keeping the lights on…
This painting is 12”x12”, some interesting results that I will keep in my mind for future work. I ended up selling this painting first thing this morning so now I need another piece for the previously mentioned show.
It is good to be painting.
Rainbow
Both of my recent paintings of rainbow trout. I was starting to put together a small collection of them but now one of them has sold via Instagram so the collection is already not a collection… I am not complaining I am pleased there is an interest!
Panhandle Rainbow
Apparently I am doing a little series of trout paintings! This was not my plan but was inspired by some 10” paintings I created a bit over a year ago. Fish are an intriguing subject with their slick metallic skin and smooth curves. This second painting is also 14”x11”.
In the dark
This is a 14”x11” acrylic painting. There is an intriguing quality to the slick silvery body of a trout, it makes for a compelling subject. They are one of the creatures that live in that big body of water I have become fairly obsessed with so it is nice to pay tribute to the mighty rainbow trout.
Rise 12”x12”
What a depressing week of news it has been, the world seems awful cold at times.
I just keep my head in the clouds with this new painting. It has been years since I listened to the Traveling Wilburys but they sound mighty good today (RIP TP).
Into Shadow
It is hard to say goodbye to Summer. The Fall is here and the sun still so warm and bright but like all things it is transition. Winter waiting patiently with it’s cold dark promise.
This is a 16″x16″ acrylic painting I just finished. This painting has a subtle intriguing beauty that doesn’t really translate well in photographic form… some transitions are tricky.
Four to the Show!
These four paintings are now at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp Washington. I am having a show called “Darkening Light” at that Gallery and it opens this Friday (running through early November). I brought approximately 20 paintings in total for the show.
