More small work happening in the studio. I have been painting some rather large pieces so it is nice to mix it up. Happy Thanksgiving!

More nature adoration happening in my studio this weekend. Driven to paint landscapes void of mankind. I am the type of person that likes my experiences in the wild to be without bipedal intrusion. I have always been a loner.

I sold this painting to a collector over the weekend. This piece was part of an Instagram story showing a number of paintings I was varnishing. It has been a while since I sold a piece so randomly, lifted my spirits a bit. Now it is framed and ready for its voyage to Atlanta, Georgia!

I have been painting a lot of forest scenes recently. It occurred to me that this is a pattern I have followed for a few years in the fall. The low sun this time of year is beautiful and haunting. It drives home the temporary quality of our existence.

A new seascape in the studio. Something a bit more peaceful and heavenly. This painting was commissioned through a gallery by a great collector of mine. She is going to be gifting it to a friend with cancer… hopefully the tranquility and light will provide both to her.

I was happy to learn that this painting was sold through Haven Gallery in New York. It is part of a group exhibit featuring art inspired by the Uffizi Gallery.

Studio shot of this ethereal golden painting. I have four of these that I am finishing up. Then it is on to the large commission of a similar theme. I am rather buried in commissions, I rarely take them but now I am signed up for a lot.

I am starting on a series of autumnal forest paintings. This time of year as the daylight fades and the sun hangs low, I feel it in so many ways. The beauty shifts and there is that reminder of days passing and time slipping away. I am leaning into the beauty of the hours.

This brooding painting is currently available at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon. I have always been a fan of moody skies and this one definitely brings a mood!

This is a studio favorite. I have avoided the urge to ship it to any galleries thus far. Enjoy your weekend.
