Just a little springtime fantasy painting.

More snow coming, more winter paintings ahead. It felt like spring was coming early, I knew it was just a temporary state. Just another excuse to paint some more winter imagery. There is a feeling I am chasing with some of these works… so more opportunities.

Continuing on with my forest imagery. I am putting together a collection of paintings for my “Woodlands” exhibit opening in May. The exhibit is at Higher Art Gallery in Traverse City, Michigan.

This painting is part of a collection of works I am putting together for my first show of the year. The show is called “Woodlands”, it is a two person show. My paintings and some intriguing sculptures by another artist. The gallery is called Higher Art Gallery. The exhibit opens May 1st, happens to be my birthday.

The snows are deep. It has a startling beauty. I know it will lose its charm. This one is heading to Abend Gallery, in Denver.

The other day we received 8″ of snow. It is always startling to wake up to such a dramatic shift in the world.
I abandoned what I was working on in the studio and did a couple moody snow scenes. Fun capturing the vibe right outside my window.
Three small acrylic paintings, each 5″x7″. I am working on small pieces in preparation for larger works. The middle painting just sold this morning.

A brooding forest scene. Experimenting with some new ideas.

Chasing the beautiful colors of fall. I decided I had better try to capture just a little of the fall magic. The colors have been stunning and quickly shifting by the day.

These three paintings are off to Radius Gallery in Missoula, Montana. Part of a holiday exhibit.
