An instagram reel of “witness”, a WIP. Painting the moon and nocturnal scenes is definitely a challenge. I am enjoying this painting!

Ocean Song

I framed this new painting with a black floater frame. This is one of two paintings I will be shipping to the Grand Bohemian Gallery in St. Augustine, Florida.
Rainbow (another look)

It is hard to believe this painting is almost 7 years old, they grow up so fast. Simply posting this one because it is a bad ass painting.
Currents

A new water painting! I am still painting on these 16”x12” panels, only one more left now!
Studio (I like it)
I worked with an architect to design my studio. I am now 7 years in on this dream. I’m always seeing things I want to change. The truth is I am super fortunate to have such a great creative space. A place to focus my skills and imagination. Restless as my spirit is, I would still hate to walk away. Time doesn’t stop and work continues until it doesn’t.
Things to Come

I just finished up my newest painting, “Things to Come”. It is a vibrant and meditative piece, it will probably be heading to a gallery in Florida. I still have to sign, varnish and frame the painting and of course package and ship so there is still work. Check out the silly IG reel to see it in motion in my studio!
Aurora

This is a painting from a number of years ago. Last weekend we were fortunate enough to witness a big “Northern Lights” show up here in North Idaho!!!

Texture (low relief)
Playing with some low relief textures. If you want a perfectly smooth application of the primer (gesso) a brush is a better choice. To get some interesting textures in the surface a knife is always fun. I use palette knives constantly for everything.
Breaking

Winter has come roaring back to North Idaho. Lake Pend Oreille is freezing and snow is piling up. I was shifting away from my winter paintings, but here is a new one! I do love the dramatic lighting when the sunlight is breaking through the trees in the winter months.
Between an Infinite Darkness

This is a painting I did just about two years ago. Not sure if it is the weather or the terrible news cycle that made me remember this one. This painting was part of my sold out solo show at Momentum Gallery.
