I sold this painting last fall. I had painted it on an especially sad day. I embraced the sorrow I felt during another dark milepost and made something worthwhile. I have always liked moody imagery and this one was a standout.

I just finished this little acrylic painting. Simple and delicate with a little mystery… those are my frequent goals. I used to labor away with detail but now I am much more interested in gesture and mood.

Two 16″x20″ wave paintings I recently completed. I am focusing on mark making and blending colors on the boards in order to create a vibrant feel.
These paintings sold before I could post them. Luckily the buyer is allowing me to hang onto them until early July so that they can be part of the Astoria, Oregon show.

I have been painting a lot of ocean paintings of late! This is a 20″x16″ acrylic painting on panel.

I have taken on a commission to paint some small paintings at an unusual size. So I took the opportunity to prepare a number of extra boards at that size.
The title pretty much describes it. I love fog lifting through the trees in the early morning. Firs and pines standing still while light and shadows shift and swirl.

I am working on a series of colorful “edge of day” paintings. I very frequently work with a rather muted palette so the color is an exciting excursion. It is all about the light and atmosphere so I am letting these images be suggestive and abstracted.

Final digital capture of this 24″x18″ painting currently residing at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Gallery. Once it tires of the island it is on it’s way to England, a permanent home!

Two 12″x9″ paintings I completed this week. Trying to keep things minimal with intriguing mark making and beautiful atmospherics.

This painting shares a title with the show I have opening Friday 5-7pm at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Gallery.

I am putting the finishing touches on this 24″x 18″ painting. It seems like I am always trying to paint ethereal meditative works. This one gives me the feeling of drifting through the air, like the best kind of dream.
I will put a frame on it for the Bainbridge Performing Arts exhibit.
