Summer has truly arrived in North Idaho.

Without a home. Bison are such beautiful and sadly symbolic creatures.

When I was young I used to paint a lot of wildlife imagery. The bison was one of my favorite subjects. So a quick side trip to old themes as an older me.

This painting is headed to Robert Lange Studios in Charleston, SC. Honored to be invited to participate in a landscape painters exhibit.

In my youth I was obsessed with Spaghetti Westerns. A massive part of the appeal was the amazing music of Ennio Morricone.
As an aging adult I still love the world the music conjures. Driving down an empty highway with that music playing makes me feel like a giddy antihero loving kid, R.I.P. Ennio.

Stories of water and light. It is a running theme through much of my work. This one is on a square 20” cradled board.

4th of July family weekend! I enlisted my wonderful niece and nephew to display this new painting!
I have been painting 7 days a week for ages. It was honestly difficult to think of taking a break for the 4th. So sad to have the visit end, now I wonder why I am working so much…

Final capture of this piece. Enjoying a few days off to spend time with family, happy 4th of July!

Mailing these four paintings to Abend Gallery for a mini show of works on Artefexart panels!

Documenting more work that will be at my solo show at Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado. The exhibit opens August 12th!
