Another small study potentially leading to a larger work. I have worked up a few of these little waterscapes now. I am going to begin a larger painting this Memorial Monday, along these lines.

Mac the fish
I am painting a few trout portraits to honor our aquatic friends. I caught the largest trout of my life on my birthday. I always catch and release fish but they are netting these Mackinaw trout to reduce their numbers. They are serious predators and clearly get huge! This fish was 17.85 lbs and 36″ long! It is providing a lot of meals for the family!
In the round
I bought some 8″ round wooden boards to paint on. These have a back cradled frame and are really nice. Thought it would be fun to do some portraits!
I am also using some art supplies given to me by Jerry’s Artarama. They sent me a lot of fun materials to play with.
Golden Time
This painting is now in Jackson Hole, Wyoming at Horizon Fine Art Gallery. It is a strange feeling spending so much time on a collection of paintings, pouring yourself into them. Box them up and they are out of your life forever. The same can be said for people that come and go from a life though mostly without the boxing (inevitable there too).
The sun is breaking free of the clouds now. Happy Tuesday, I am onto other projects!
Great expanses
I have always loved big open spaces. Something that is getting harder to find in our modern world.
One of many magical things about water is the open distance. People often suggest I add a boat or plane to my paintings… no.
To catch the light
I captured a high resolution of this painting before the packing begins! Getting ready to send a group of works to Horizon Fine Art Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Distant and Romantic Lands
This is another painting I will be shipping to Horizon Fine Art Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A new collection of pieces I am eager to share!
Last Touch
Glowing with the last touch of light. Everything fades, time marches on.
Winter Memories
This piece will also be shipping to Horizon Fine Art Gallery in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Inspired by some very pretty winter mornings.
Everywhere a sign
My newest painting in an ongoing series I call Apocalyptic Bloom. I have been trying to build a collection of these works but have sold off a few. Putting together and intriguing show.
