I am awake in the dark, pretending otherwise. Breathing slow, remaining still. Dread crawls the ladder of my spine.

Small paintings on panel.

One of my favorite paintings from a couple years back. This one is at The RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.

A little isolated getaway. There are a number of island in Lake Pend Oreille. They are always intriguing. This painting isn’t based on a particular island.

This painting is part of “The Woodland” exhibit. The gallery is physically opening this Friday in Traverse City, Michigan!!!

The rain and sun of spring are a source of inspiration. I decided to break down the imagery into something of an abstracted pattern. The result is a bit hypnotic and perhaps meditative.
The paint is often the subject of my work as much as any imagery.

Hanging onto this piece for my August solo show at Abend Gallery in Denver, Co.

Final photo of the second painting in the series.

Moving forward with a little bit of rain.
