I took a proper photo of this finished painting. This one is only 12″x12″, I definitely plan on doing larger works with this moody atmosphere.

Winter sun is a precious thing. This is one of three little winter light studies I am working on.

In honor of my sister’s birthday. Happy Birthday Julie!

One of my favorite fire paintings is headed to Horizon Fine Art Gallery in Jackson Hole! So if you are lucky enough to spend some time in Jackson stop in and check it out. The gallery has a small collection of my work!

Two recent water squares have shipped to an art buyer in Boise, Idaho. Hard to capture the magic of these in a photograph, the colors always seem to shift.
Have a great Sunday!

Storms keep rolling across Lake Pend Oreille. Sometimes winter feels cozy other times isolating. The beauty is undeniable.

A small study in the studio today. Our snow has turned back to rain and watching it on the water is always a meditative experience.

Today we have a few inches of snow in North Idaho. Nothing but snow for days according to the forecast! Regardless of the date winter has arrived.
So it seemed appropriate to post this warm campfire painting. There is so much I want to work on but it is hard not to switch gears to some winter scenes…

In my life I have felt like a negative soul. Still it seems the act of creation is an act of optimism.
