7”x9” Collection

These four small paintings are acrylic on panel. I finally varnished and signed them so I can mail them to a buyer today!

Small paintings are enjoyable but I do miss the freedom of movement available on a larger surface. Generally it is good to switch up sizes and approach to keep the sense of discovery alive!

Minted Murals!

I recently became a minted artist. I am excited about new opportunities and the print world is something I have never explored. If you are not familiar with minted, they are a large online marketplace of independent artists and designers. They use crowdsourcing to select winning designs and their minted members. From their website you can order art prints, home decor and stationary.

Minted has launched “Wall murals” so for a very limited time you can buy massive prints of three of my paintings! I am including a link in this blog to all three murals!

Morning Waves

Two 16″x20″ wave paintings I recently completed. I am focusing on mark making and blending colors on the boards in order to create a vibrant feel.

These paintings sold before I could post them. Luckily the buyer is allowing me to hang onto them until early July so that they can be part of the Astoria, Oregon show.

Small and moody

A couple paintings I have recently finished. I was commissioned to do three atmospheric water/sky paintings that are 7″x9″. It is a custom size so I had to cut a number of panels and decided to paint even more work that size! One of these was for the commission the painting beneath the text was just for me.

Water in the frame

Testing out a frame on this 9″x7″. Frames can really give a painting a beautifully finished look. I have been working on panels recently and these are difficult to hang without a frame. So I have purchased a couple of frames to test them out. I typically don’t spend extra money on frames so trying to decide how to move forward with these!

Reflections 9”x7”

I made this little video of the painting in progress. It is on a paintbook by “edge pro gear”. A pretty slick setup made for outdoor painting but it works great in a studio as well. It has a light mounted on top which provides amazing lighting to work with. It uses magnets to hold the artwork to the box.

Read more about the easel at their website if you are interested!

Morning Fog 9”x7”

I have taken on a commission to paint some small paintings at an unusual size. So I took the opportunity to prepare a number of extra boards at that size.

The title pretty much describes it. I love fog lifting through the trees in the early morning. Firs and pines standing still while light and shadows shift and swirl.
